Abstract

Vocabulary is an important factor for foreign language learners, especially beginners. Vocabulary teaching in the past was often associated with rote learning or with the more progressive approach of teaching vocabulary in context. However, this context is built solely on words. Therefore, it will not create a visual and vivid context like multimedia technology can. Clearly, this technology brings immense benefits to teaching. However, teachers must carefully consider the appropriateness of topics and the amount of content to suit each range of age and learning ability.
