Abstract

The research focuses on managing the phenomenon of receiving illegal orders from the superiors in businesses in Vietnam using a qualitative research method, including in-depth interviews with respondents. Fifteen employees were interviewed about their
experiences after receiving illegal orders from the superiors. The research sample includes employees selected through the purposive sampling method. From the interview results, the study explored four themes on factors influencing the behavior of complying with or refusing orders from superiors, including power dynamics, personal principles, legal aspects, and ethical dilemmas. Through qualitative research findings, the research group further explores two themes: the consequences affecting employees and organizations, along with proposed solutions.
